Dire Wolves, from Pittsburgh PA, play witchy overblown cosmic improv for fans of Pharoah Overlord, George RR Martin, Can, Trad Gras Och Stenar and twenty-sided dice. This brand-new band is made up of 20-year indie touring artists including folks from Natura Nasa, Arco Flute Foundation, Sagas, Forest Dweller, Black Forest/Black Sea, Dark Yoga, Manbeard, The Iditarod, etc. Members previously lived in Portland Or, Providence RI, Baltimore MD, New Haven CT, Indiana PA – they own several record labels, venues and have been known to organize tours and festivals as well. – Phillyvenues.org

Really harsh black/noise, but rather than a pure assault of distortion, there are a lot of really catchy riffs and hooks within the shrapnel. Forest Dweller is Ben Bowman (King Bowman, Nemo, Hissy Fitter, Baby Bird, Hank Jones, Nature etc) with occasional collaborators.
